Coastal California Tudor

Our California Tudor project was inspired by the local surroundings of Montecito; exuding an understated sophistication embodied by the coastal community. The MN Studio team used classic materials, earthen textures, and traditional detailing to transformed a dark and dated home into a timeless space that feels upscale yet relaxed and livable. Custom wall paneling and refinished hardwood floors set the tone in the entry and are carried throughout the home. A handsome grasscloth adorns the walls of the dining room and compliments the custom built-ins and oversized linen pendant. In the adjacent kitchen and study, the soft gray veining of the stone slab counters and backsplash compliment a leatherized limestone at the island which features a farmhouse sink and traditional faucet.  A sweet powder bathroom boasts floor to ceiling paneling in a deep navy tone with locally sourced vintage maps as artwork along with an elegant marble vanity. Bedrooms feature vaulted ceilings, vintage rugs, and custom designed headboards. The primary bathroom showcases velvety dolomite marble with accents of warm emperador to create a bold flooring pattern that pairs perfectly with a custom striped windowcovering above the freestanding tub. The real jewel of the home is the sitting room in the primary suite; with floor to ceiling windows and views of Miramar Beach, it provides a serene area to read and recharge. Pulling the project together is the carefully selected furniture, the majority of which was custom designed, and the local mixed media artwork curated throughout the home. The team lead interior design efforts and turnkey procurement services from concept through construction and move in.
